THE HISTORY OF THE MINI- RECOMMENDED READING LIST:
If you would like to learn more about the history of the Mini brand, here is a list of recommended reading courtesy of David Yando, Manager of the Lane Motor Museum:
The Man Who Made The Mini
Jonathan Wood (Biography of Sir Alec Issigonis – an accomplished racer and engineer, even without the success that the Mini brought – the more I read about him, and see quotes from him, the more intriguing he sounds.)
Mini-50 Years
Rob Golding (dealing with both Mini and MINI, this new book tells the stories of both the cars and the people responsible. Its unusual hardback design adds to its appeal.)
The Essential Guide to the Mini
Mark Paxton (covers all models, 1959-1999, would be a good reference book for a prospective buyer.)
Mini The Book
Peter Wurth (while it tells the story of the Mini thru text and pop-art photography, it deals mainly with the social and pop-culture influence of the Mini, by the Mini.)
Mini Cooper in Detail – Mk I – Mk III 1961-1971
John Parnell (covers the Cooper and Cooper S performance cars.)
Maximum Mini
Jeroen Booij (covers 58 common and not-so-common variants based on the venerable Mini chassis.)
