Introduced in 1971, the Solex 5000 was the hip and trendy version of the 3800 model, aimed squarely at the youth market.
Although they share the 3800’s engine, 5000s have a few distinct differences: smaller
16” (406mm) wheels, a headlight attached to the handlebar, stainless steel fenders
and mudguards, and a white fuel tank and flywheel cover.
Solex offered the 5000 in four bright colors: Snow White, Atoll Blue, Palm Yellow, and Orange.
