Aixam Mega Tjaffer – 1995
Aixam, a French company known for their microcars, debuted the Mega Tjaffer in 1992 as a versatile pleasure vehicle. Based on the Citroën AX, Aixam built the Mega Tjaffer with interchangeable and removable plastic body panels. Because of this, the Mega Tjaffer could be a four seater with a roof, a two seater pickup truck, and even a doorless and roofless buggy.
The AIxam was built standard as a front wheel drive and optionally as a four wheel drive. The four wheel drive was derived from the production four wheel drive version of the Citroëm AX. Many similarities have been drawn between the Mega Tjaffer and the Citroën Mehari, however the additional body panels on the Aixam make it a much more realistic daily driver.
When you bought the car it did not come with a roof or doors. These options were part of a separate “Wind and Waterproof” package.
