Rally for The Lane- Frequently Asked Questions

Can we switch drivers during the event?
Yes and no. Only the driver(s) who goes through the familiarization process in the morning can drive the vehicle. There is a max of two drivers per car.

What is the driver’s minimum age?
To drive a car in Rally for The Lane the participant must be at least 25 years old with a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance (both of which must be submitted during registration).  Passengers must be age 13 or older.

Will my driving record affect my ability to participate?
As a passenger, no. As a driver, yes. Our insurance company will check the driving records of those who indicate that they will be driving the vehicles and reserves the right to reject any participants as drivers based on serious driving violations that may be found in their records for the past 3 years. Please note that if you have been charged with driving under the influence (DUI), operating while intoxicated (OWI), operating under the influence (OUI) or any other alcohol or drug-related offense within three years from the date of the Rally you plan to participate in you are not eligible to drive a Rally car per our insurance underwriter for this event (though you may participate as a passenger). All drivers will be required to submit a driver’s license and current proof of insurance.

Can I bring my children?
All passengers must be 13 years of age or older.

Are navigational aides allowed?
Yes.

Can I bring my friends?
Each rally entry varies based on the seating capacity of the car. If a car seats 2 it will include a max of two participants. A car with a capacity of 4 will include a max of 4 participants. Please note that due to the time it will take to train everyone on the individual quirks of each vehicle, each car is limited to a max of 2 drivers. Drivers must be age 25 and older and passengers must be at least 13 years of age.

Is lunch provided?
Yes. Lunch for each participant in your car is included in your rally fee.

What if my car breaks down on the rally?
We will have a service vehicle following the rally with a spare car that can be used if the original rally car cannot be repaired.

What if I sign up and find out that I am not comfortable driving the car I choose?
We will try to work with you to find a car more suitable to your needs.

Can I bring my own car?
No.

Is there an average speed that needs to be maintained?
No. The pace is very relaxed. We want you to enjoy the car and the drive. Since the speed capabilities of the cars vary greatly, we have set the route up so even the slowest car can make the drive without pushing.
