In 1956, Renault came out with a new model called the Dauphine. It was essentially an updated 4CV with a larger body and more power. The Dauphine was also the first Renault to be imported to the United States in large numbers with 200,000 coming in from 1957-1960. The Dauphine was a very successful mid-range car and remained in production for twelve years with over two million being produced during that time period. The Dauphine you see here is the Gordini model, tweaked by Amédée Gordini himself, making 37 horsepower.
