PGO Hemera- 2011

 

Brothers Gilles and Olivier Prévôt began PGO (Prévôt Gilles et Olivier) Automobiles in 1985, but production started in earnest in 2000, building Porsche 356-inspired sports cars. Their first car, the Speedster II roadster, was introduced at the 2000 Paris Motor Show.

 

PGO launched the up-market Cevennes convertible in 2005. The Hemera coupe was added in 2008. PGO uses the same chassis, engine, and interior across the model line-up; only the fiberglass-bodied exterior is changed, keeping the weight between the three models fairly close to a lightweight 2160 lbs (990kg). With its roof, the Hemera is the heaviest PGO, weighing in at 2233 lbs (1013kg), putting it in competition with the likes of Lotus and Morgan.          

 

The Hemera seen here has a Peugeot-sourced, mid-mounted engine producing 140 hp. PGO began using BMW-sourced 1.6 liter DOHC Valvetronic turbo engines from the MINI Cooper S beginning in 2012, bumping power output to 180 hp.
