Skoot-2001

skoot-2001.JPG

This bicycle may look unusual but its design is one of functionality. Also called the suitcase bike, the Skoot was intended for the commuting working professional to conceal and easily transport his or her ride while also avoiding the separate bicycle tickets necessary on many UK public transport systems. The saddle, handlebars, and wheels fold up into the boxy frame and the bicycle literally becomes its own carrying case, complete with wheels. Inside there is extra room for a laptop or briefcase. The cycle’s single gear and enclosed chain ensure a mess-free ride.

Although the Skoot was manufactured and advertised in the UK, it sold best in Japan.
