Ever dream of driving that special vintage car that you’ve seen at a national car show? Lane Motor Museum can make your dream come true on September 29 or October 13 at our Third Annual Rally for The Lane!
Rally for The Lane is a one-day vintage car fan extravaganza. The museum has selected 44 cars from its collection that participants will be able purchase the right to drive on the rally. Registration will end when approximately 25 have been registered for that day's Rally event.
The day will begin at the museum with some car familiarization time and a personal driving lesson for your chosen vehicle. The rally will kick-off at 9:00 a.m. and we'll all head towards Columbia, TN.
This is a gimmick rally, which means there are questions to answer along the way but it is not a timed event. If you prefer to just enjoy the drive, the questions are optional. The directions will be very clear as we do not want participants getting lost.
When we arrive in Columbia, we will all gather at the historic location of the Mt. Pleasant Grille. Since 1909 they've been a bank, a drug store & soda shop and a music venue that played host to legends of the Grand Ole Opry like Minnie Pearl, Eddy Arnold, Roy Acuff and many others! Today they have restored the building but maintained a decor that reminds guests of the 40's, 50's and 60's!
Following lunch we will begin the second half of the Rally as we work our way back to the museum where we'll enjoy a post-rally reception, a private tour of the museum's basement collection and a trophy presentation!
Finally, for those who would like to continue the fun we have planned an optional group dinner that will be held in the museum's exhibit area- surrounded by our cars! Our friends at The Pig & Pie restaurant will be catering this delicious meal!
