Lane Motor Museum announces its first annual Rally for The Lane, a fundraising event
NASHVILLE, TN, June 17, 2010 – In an unusual fundraiser, Lane Motor Museum is hosting a rally in which participants will be able to buy the right to drive one of the museum’s cars for the event. The first annual Rally for The Lane will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2010.Registration is now available online at www.lanemotormuseum.org/rally-for-the-lane.
The event is a gimmick rally so there will be questions to answer along the way though participation is optional. The price to drive one of the museum’s cars ranges from $400 - $750 per vehicle. In total, 31 vehicles are available for registration. Some vehicles allow two participants and some allow four though all vehicles are limited to a maximum of two drivers. Drivers must be at least 25 years of age with a valid driver’s license and all passengers must be at least 16 years old.
The rally itself will include: a pre-tour breakfast sponsored by Brad Phillips of Hagerty Collector Car Insurance, a personal driving lesson of the purchased vehicle, a tour through the countryside that stops at Riverbluff Park in Ashland City, TN for a picnic with boxed lunches and rides in the museum’s 1964 Amphicar, a return tour to the museum, a private guided tour of the museum’s basement collection and, finally, a trophy presentation. In addition, participants will receive an official Rally t-shirt and a one year membership to Lane Motor Museum.
All funds raised by the rally will benefit Lane Motor Museum, a 501(c)3 non-profit auto museum located in Nashville, Tennessee.
