Introduced at the Turin Motorshow in 1957, the 1200 Granluce was designed to replace the 1100. In two years, at the Geneva Motorshow, Fiat showed the new 1200 Cabriolet. The body was all new, designed by Pininfarina with a more modern style and slightly larger dimensions, while the mechanicals were mainly carried over from an earlier example built in the mid-1950s. Compare this car to a Fiat 500 which was built at the same time. You can see that this is a substantially larger and more luxurious automobile.
