It is said that Dodge produced a line of military trucks “as reliable as gravity and as popular with soldiers as taking the next breath.” Time has judged Dodge the best of the military truck manufacturers, and the M-37 as the best of these–bigger, stronger, and a better performer than its predecessors or peers. The M-37B1 seen here indicates an open bed, 3/4 ton, second series 4x4 military truck. While the M-series trucks shared a lot under the skin with the famous Dodge Power Wagon, there were few similarities in outward appearance. The passenger seat of the M-37 lifts out to reveal access to the 24 volt batteries while the driver’s seat tips forward to reveal an area for tool storage. The M-37 rode very well, due in no small part to its huge shock absorbers.
