2nd Annual Rally for The Lane Now On Sale
The 2nd Annual Rally for The Lane is Now On Sale!
NASHVILLE, TN, March 11, 2011 – In an unusual fundraiser, Lane Motor Museum is again hosting a rally in which participants will be able to buy the right to drive one of the museum’s cars for the event.
Due to demand, the second annual Rally for The Lane will take place on two separate weekends: Saturday, September 24, 2011 and again on October 1, 2011. Registration is now available online at www.lanemotormuseum.org/rally-for-the-lane.
The event incorporates a gimmick rally, so there will be questions to answer along the way, though participation is optional. The price to drive one of the museum’s cars ranges from $400 - $800 per vehicle. In total, 41 vehicles are available for registration. Some vehicles allow two participants and some allow four though all vehicles are limited to a maximum of two drivers. Drivers must be at least 25 years of age with a valid driver’s license and all passengers must be at least 16 years old. Participants will receive an official Rally poster and t-shirt as well as a one year membership to Lane Motor Museum.
The rally itself will begin with a pre-tour breakfast sponsored by Brad Phillips of Hagerty Collector Car Insurance and a personal driving lesson of the registered vehicle. The rally will then travel more than 70 miles to Lynchburg, TN where participants will be served lunch at Miss Mary Bobo’s Boarding House and participate in a guided tour of the Jack Daniels Distillery. The rally will then return to the museum for a private reception and tour of the museum’s basement collection as well as a trophy presentation. Following the official activities of the Rally for The Lane, an optional group dinner has been planned at Ellendale’s restaurant in Nashville.
Rally for The Lane is a fundraising benefit for Lane Motor Museum in Nashville, TN. Lane Motor Museum opened in October 2003 and has since grown from a collection of 80 cars to nearly 330. As a 501(c)3 non-profit, the museum relies on private donors to help offset the many costs of operating a 135,000 square foot facility, the maintenance of nearly 330 vehicles and several ongoing restoration projects.
More information about Rally for The Lane is available online at www.lanemotormuseum.org/rally-for-the-lane or by calling the museum at 615-742-7445.
